The Anglican Diocese of Newcastle has confirmed its sold its landmark property, Bishopscourt.
The historic residence, on Newcastle’s Hill, has been home to many of the city’s Anglican bishops and their families .
Bishopscourt is believed to have been sold to a local purchaser for more than $4.5-million.
The diocese says the proceeds will go towards a new bishop’s residence and general ministry costs.
