Australia Asia Flight Training has been given until May 30, 2016 to start building a pilot training facility in Glen Innes, after missing a deadline in April.
With the project expected to pump $20 million into the local economy, Council says giving more time will benefit the Northern Tablelands.
The company has admitted to struggling financially, but expects to have the $50 million needed for construction within three months.
