Wallabies lock Sam Carter’s season is over, after suffering an injury during Friday’s super rugby match against Pretoria.
The Quirindi local, tore a ligament in his right knee and sustained a small fracture following a tackle.
The injury will see Carter on the sideline for up to 12 weeks.
It will be a race against the clock for the second rower, who will need to prove his fitness for the first round of the rugby championships – when Australia take on the USA in Chicago on September 5.
