HOLMES CLAIMS BRONZE AT WORLD SURFING GAMES

The latest World Surf League event in Fiji has again been put on hold, but there was still surfing success for the Central Coast overnight.

Bateau Bay’s Shane Holmes claimed bronze at the ISA World Surfing Games in Nicaragua.

The 22 year-old recorded a two-wave total of 13.63, almost five points short of the Costa Rican winner, Noe McGonagle.

Holmes’ result helped Australia to a fifth place finish overall.
