NEWCASTLE PETANQUE CLUB CELEBRATES FIRST CASH PRIZE EVENT

The father and son team of Scott and Kierran Clarke has won the A-Grade title at the Newcastle Petanque Club’s first ever tournament to offer prizemoney.
Competitors came from across Australia and New Zealand to compete in the Marcel Linares Open.
The Clarke boys scored $1,300 for the win, while fellow locals Neil Brown and Chris Boudan finished second.
A handful of players are now heading to an event in France, which will feature almost 5,000 teams.
