NEW ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES

After numerous state-wide protests and 14 months of negotiating, the Independent Education Union is encouraging Catholic school teachers to support a new enterprise agreement.
It includes a 2.27 per cent pay rise for teachers in New South Wales, with a further increase of 2.5 per cent in January.
Teachers in Tamworth and Armidale went on strike in July last year, because the union believed the original agreement put forward was a ‘dud document’.
An electronic vote on the new conditions is expected to take place next term.
