A critical incident investigation has been launched after the discovery of a body at Nundle last week.
The body, believed to be that of missing 77-year-old Keith Parry, was found in dense bushland on the southern side of Chaffey Dam on Friday afternoon.
Barwon Local Area Command will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident after concerns were raised about the original investigation.
It will be overseen by Professional Standards Committee and all information will be forwarded to the coroner.
