Port Macquarie’s Reece Vella has been crowned one of the country’s strongest men, finishing third in Australia’s Most Powerful Man Competition at Wiseman’s Ferry on the weekend.
The 23-year-old beat more than a dozen contenders in the 90-kilogram weight division, despite only just taking up the sport.
“My first competition was about 5 weeks ago, I started training for this in February so it’s only been about four months of training so it’s been really good, I’m very lucky with what I’ve achieved in this time”
Vella is now hoping to compete at the World’s Strongest Man Competition in Norway.
