Major dredging works around Coffs Harbour will begin within a fortnight.
The dredging vessel has arrived and the contractor overseeing the project has installed pipes to pump sand from the outer harbour channel to Park Beach, north of Coffs creek.
It’s hoped the dredge will help provide safer access to the boat ramp and the marina.
The dredging will be carried out over the next three months, and will see up to 40,000 cubic metres of sand removed.
