WOMEN IN POLICE RECOGNISED AT HUNTER STADIUM
A baton celebrating 100 years of women in policing made a spectacular arrival in the region today, arriving by helicopter at Hunter Stadium as part of its statewide tour.
The baton was carried by Newcastle officer, Jennifer Lawton.
“I think it’s very important for women in New South Wales police, and very important for all of the women in the past 100 years… This is a very important event for us.”
Outside the stadium, female officers from a range of departments also ran a display, showcasing the history of women in the force.
