Emergency crews scrambled to Newcastle airport this evening when a Jetstar aircraft with 190 passengers on board elected to make a diverted landing after crew reported the smell of smoke in the cabin.
The aircraft landed without incident. Passengers will now be bussed to Sydney, with engineers currently assessing the aircraft.
Flight JQ-413 was travelling from the Gold Coast to Sydney.
