WATCH CONTINUES ON STRANDED DOLPHIN IN YAMBA

National Parks and Wildlife officers are maintaining a watch on a juvenile dolphin separated from its mother at Yamba.
The pair became stranded in a saltwater lagoon on Wednesday but attempts to relocate them were unsuccessful.
Since then, the mother has swum to deeper water on the other side of the local causeway and appears to be waiting for the calf to join her.
Authorities say the youngster is feeding on fish and appears healthy.
They say if the calf doesn’t swim out by Sunday another attempt will be made to re-unite the dolphins.
