ORCHARD ON TARGET AS KOOKABURRAS OVERCOME IRELAND

Australia’s mens and womens hockey teams have both qualified for the Rio Olympics, following the Kookaburras’ 4-1 win over Ireland in the quarter finals of the World League tournament.
Australia waited until midway through the second quarter to open the scoring through Matt Gohdes.
Jamie Dwyer added the next, before the Hunter’s Simon Orchard put Australia in front three-nil.
“How does he get that around the feet of Hart, at full length tuck it on goal?”
The Maitland boy then paid tribute to his childhood club, the Rams.
The Kookaburras will now face Great Britain in the semi-finals.
