An 18-year-old man has been charged, over a shooting at Waratah early yesterday morning.
Police were called to the Platt Street unit, following reports a 38-year-old man had been shot in the leg.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The 18 year old has been refused bail and will face Newcastle Local Court again on Wednesday.
