A milestone has been reached at BaptistCare’s Wallsend centre.
Volunteers today served up meal number 25,000… taking time out to mark the special moment.
The walk-in centre starting serving daily meals four years ago, and has since seen a spike in the number of people needing assistance.
“We’re getting more and more people coming in for various reasons. For a lot of those it’s financial reasons, they just can’t afford that wholesome meal all the time.”
