HUNTERS WOMEN ONE WIN AWAY FROM THE GRAND FINAL

The Newcastle Hunters women will play Bankstown for a spot in the Waratah Basketball League grand final, after edging out Hornsby in last night’s elimination semi.
The visiting Spiders started well, but Newcastle’s scrambling defence soon stifled their attack.
As usual, the Hunters produced a solid team effort, as Charlotte Bull top scored with 15.
Susie Walmsley fought hard in her return from a broken finger.
While skipper Cheryl Wills provided plenty of inspiration, setting up Alison Ebzery, before fighting her way to the hoop, as the home side won by four.
