CHAFFEY DAM HITS 50 PER CENT CAPACITY

For the first time in 18 months, Chaffey Dam is sitting above 50 per cent capacity.

Official figures show Tamworth’s water supply hit the magic mark on Saturday and is currently sitting at 51.2 per cent.

Tamworth and Attunga currently remain on level two water restrictions, despite the trigger for level one being 45 per cent.

Instead of automatically relaxing restrictions, Mayor Col Murray said the decision would be made at tonight’s meeting.
