AMBULANCE SERVICE SENDS WARNING TO HORSE RIDERS
The state’s ambulance service is urging the region’s horse riders to make safety a priority, with more than 1000 people injured over the past year.
From July 2014 to the end of June this year more than 650 people were thrown or fell from a horse, while 70 were kicked.
A number of people were also crushed and bitten.
Riders are being encouraged to always wear a helmet and proper riding gear, while small children should always be supervised.
