The Manning Valley Business Chamber admits the region has fallen on tough times financially.
This week’s closure of AusMulch, another blow for Taree, with reports suggesting 30 jobs have been lost.
“That tends to flow through the whole economy and certainly will impact other businesses retail and the like and that will remain to be seen over the coming months,” the Chamber’s Steve Attkins said.
Mr Attkins said outside investment will be crucial in keeping the local economy alive.
