CLARENCE COUNCIL READY FOR FUTURE FLOODS
Clarence Valley Council says it’s ready to deal with flooding as a result of climate change.
A recent University of New South Wales report shows rising temperatures could bring massive downpours and destructive flooding to the Clarence Valley and other low lying regions.
The research was based on 30 years of data collected from 79 weather stations across the country.
Council says it’s flood model accounts for a 10 per cent increase in rainfall, which equates to river level rises of less than half a metre.
