In an Australian first, the New South Wales young Nationals have voted in favour of marriage equality.
The party voted on the motion at its recent annual conference, making it the first youth division of a conservative political party to do so.
The motion stated same-sex relationships were equally as important and valid as heterosexual relationships.
The party says it acknowledges the importance of marriage equality to young people in regional Australia.
