BRISBANE FATHER CHARGED WITH DAUGHTER’S MURDER
A father, accused of murdering his six-year-old daughter and attempting to kill her sister, has had his case mentioned in a Gold Coast court.
The 52-year-old was charged after the young girl’s body was found by her mother in her bedroom at a house in Kendron, in Brisbane’s north yesterday.
Police allege he also tried to murder her eight-year-old sister.
The man was later arrested on the Gold Coast.
Legal Aid lawyer, Jenna Johnsen, said her client wasn’t required to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, and that the matter would have to return to the Brisbane jurisdiction.
Magistrate Jacqueline Payne adjourned the matter for committal callover in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 28.
