Coffs Harbour is hosting Australia’s first international blueberry conference, with more than 300 growers from 20 countries taking part.
Growers are learning about marketing and the latest innovations in production.
Income from the local blueberry industry is tipped to exceed earnings from banana production on the Coffs Coast.
“I think a lot of people have got big aspirations about how big they can grow this business but time will tell how successful that will be.” said Peter McPherson from Costa Berries Australia.
Tomorrow delegates will be taken to a local blueberry farm, as well as visiting a processing and distribution facility.
