COUNCIL PUSHES AHEAD WITH FLYING FOX MANAGEMENT PLAN

Despite minimal flying fox activity around Tamworth CBD, council is pushing ahead with a management plan.
In peak season numbers can swell up to 80, 000 with two camps of flying foxes along the banks of the Peel River, near King George Avenue and Bicentennial Park.
Council is tonight expected to endorse a plan to install signage near the camp areas, develop a community education program and create a survey for residents living in close proximity to the flying foxes.
