The North Beach Bowling Club in Mylestom is hoping to entice more young players to the sport.
Today the club hosted its first ‘Roll-Up School Holiday’ program.
Around a dozen amateurs from as young as seven, took to the green to learn tips and tricks from some of the region’s best bowlers.
“It’s a great idea to get them involved in sport and out of the home and away from the computer, and bowls offers those people who aren’t really physically active, as in running and the heavier sports, something gentler, it’s stimulating to the mind.” Said Lynda Saunders.
The club plans to hold another introductory event on September 30.
