Former Newcastle Lord Mayor, Jeff McCloy, has lost his High Court bid to overturn the ban on developers making political donations in New South Wales.
The court today rejected Mr McCloy’s assertion that the ban is a restriction on the implied freedom of political communication.
It also ordered him to pay legal costs.
The challenge was launched last year, amid the ICAC probe into political donations.
