Judges spent time deliberating over the best floral arrangements and art works.
While the centre ring was transformed into a stage of fierce equestrian competition.
“weather is be cattle, dairy cattle, beef cattle or horses or weather it be in flowers or agriculture and I think it’s very important to keep the rural communities going,” President Milton Johnston said.
Budding botanists were given their moment to shine in junior judging.
More than 2,000 people are expected to come through the gates during the show, which wraps up on Sunday.
