A 36-year-old woman remains in custody tonight, after being charged with murdering her mother in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Redhead.
Police were called to a home on Kalaroo Road just before 6.30 last night, where they found the body of a 73-year-old woman with a number of stab wounds.
Her daughter was arrested and taken to Charlestown Police Station.
She’s due to appear in court on Wednesday.
