It was a great weekend for Hunter basketballers in the WNBL with Katie Ebzery scoring 17 points in Sydney Uni’s big win over the Adelaide Lightning, while Suzy Batkovic celebrated a milestone in Townsville’s demolition of Canberra.
The skipper was in scintillating form, grabbing 30 points, along with six rebounds, in just over 24 minutes on the court.
Midway through the second quarter, Batkovic became just the 10th player in WNBL history to post 4,000 points.
The Fire went on to beat the Capitals by 44.
