RECORD FIELD FOR OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT IN COFFS
A record field of golfers will tee off in the North Coast Open at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club this weekend.
Organisers say more than 300 of the region’s top amateur golfers will be competing in both the Open and the Ladies Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
Bonville’s Tim Hyland, who’s won the last two Opens, wants to make it a hat trick.
“Yeah Timmy’s back to defend his crown but we’ve also got another couple of guys in the field, Jack Pountney who’s come off winning the club champs so I’m sure he’ll be a threat this weekend,” said Paul McAra, Coffs Harbour Golf Club’s General Manager.
The Coffs tournament is a qualifying event for the New South Wales Open in three weeks.
