The 2011 Mal Muster surfing contest was held on the weekend in clean, two to three foot waves at Rainbow Beach, Bonny Hills.
98 surfers from as far as Queensland competed in nine different divisions in the hugely popular annual competition.
The final of the coveted nine foot board division was an all local affair with Laurieton surfer, Ian Bell defeating Damian Kelly of Bonny Hills by just half a point.
Local surfers, Grant McKenzie, Anthony Donohue, George Watt, won three other divisions taking out the over 35s, 45s and 55s categories respectively.
