Armidale mountain biker Katherine Hosking has taken out the Northern Inland Academy of Sport’s Female Athlete of the Year award, the first in her sport to do so.
The O’Connor Catholic College student won the Under 17s national title, while finishing fourth at the Oceania Championship.
Aussie Rules coach Tim Cotter was also rewarded for his efforts, named Coach of the Year.
Tamworth footballer Will Menz rounded out the major awards, claiming Male Athlete of the Year, having made the Australian Under 17s training squad this year.
