A number of long day care facilities in Tamworth are set to share in $20 million of state government funding.
St Mark’s Preschool and Long Day Care in South Tamworth is one of 18 to benefit.
Run by the community, every dollar counts for the centre.
“We’re going to look at replacing some of our furniture inside, some, just making the place look a little fresher, and buying some more resources for outside, so some big pieces of equipment for climbing.”
MP Kevin Anderson says the state government is putting an emphasis on early education, particularly for three to five year olds.
“They start to learn the basics of education, they start to develop their cognitive skills and that sets them up as they get to big school as they call it.”
