NEW LIFE FOR WATT SPACE
Another of Newcastle’s historic city buildings has been re-born, this time as a student art gallery.
The University of Newcastle’s Watt Space re-opens tonight in Nothumberland House, on the corner of King and Auckland streets.
The building was constructed in 1951 as offices for the Northumberland County Council.
It’s come to life for its new purpose, displaying the best works in the university’s annual Student Art Prize.
The exhibition runs until November 15.
