PROTESTERS SET UP CAMP IN EFFORT TO STOP BYRON BAY BYPASS

Those opposed to the construction of the Byron Bay bypass have vowed to never give up, despite it being approved.

Passionate protesters are preparing to camp out on Butler Street hoping to stop work commencing.

Council was due to start construction on stage one today which includes upgrades from Northern Butler Street to Glen Villa Resort, with a new roundabout to be built on Somerset Street just before Christmas.
