Talks of a rate rise in Taree have gained momentum.
Council has opened a centre to gain feedback on a proposed hike of six per cent, every year, over six years.
It’s hoped the rise will help address the region’s growing infrastructure backlog.
A phone survey of 500 people will also be conducted, with feedback to be considered before councillors vote on the issue next year.
