The Knights will only play one trial game in the lead-up to the 2016 NRL season.
Nathan Brown’s men will face the Canberra Raiders in Orange on the 20th of February.
The coach has also indicated he will take a largely inexperienced side to next year’s Auckland Nines.
The draw for the tournament was released today, with the Knights pooled with the Cowboys, Panthers and Tigers.
Newcastle bowed out in the quarter finals of the Nines this year.
