NERANG NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE CLOSES FOODBANK

Community workers say unemployment and crime rates will increase after the Nerang Neighbourhood Centre was forced to close many of its services.
After four years, the foodbank has stopped handing out groceries, while other services will cease in a few weeks.
It’s extremely disappointing to learn of the food bank having to close – and for such a relatively paltry amount as $20,000. If State government or local council are unable to put in the money then surely local businesses can come up with sufficient funds to assist them to remain open.
I am only a small businessman, but I would be most happy to put in $1000.00. I know it isn’t much, but if others did the same then this marvelous and very necessary service could continue to offer help to those in our community who most need it. Please let me know if you wish me to contribute, and I will deposit the funds immediately.
