The last single lane bridge between Walcha and Inverell entered its final phase of construction today.
The bridge, made possible by a $705,000 federal grant, is needed to safely transport cattle to Inverell’s Bindaree Beef.
It comes after concerns the current wooden bridge isn’t sturdy enough.
The funding is part of the second round of the $100-million Bridges Renewal Programme.
