  1. The decision was announced in December last year with Wickham being the location.

The announcement was accompanied by a video that even showed the location of the station and buildings.

If an announcement is made it needs to be a fully detailed and costed plan complete with patronage projections and an implementation timetable.

If the plan is not Wickham then the government has done a backflip

As the tram passes up the eastern end of Hunter St as per one of Tim Owen’s thought bubbles the newsworthy question will be under who’s bedroom window will the tram platforms be and who will win the prize of the eastern terminus out side their front door.

    I await your response.

  3. as a 30 year old progressive decisions like this about my city and its future make me really happy!!!
the train line is an isore and only serves to divide the cities main attraction (the foreshore).
in reality how man people board or alight from the train between Newcastle and Wickham on a train going to and from Sydney? Gold coast will soon have a tram line, Melbourne trams are great.
Novacastrains need to realise that we are entering a new era for our great city, in a decade Newcastle will be the place to live in Australia, my heels are firmly planted…
Lets get rid of this same old same old bogan mentality, change is happening, be positive that people actually care about our city, invite change, go out and travel, when you come back you will see how much potential Newcastle has!!! next thing save our live music scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
