Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal car crash in Wallsend overnight.
Emergency services were called to Thomas Street, at the intersection of Brooks Street, just after 9pm and found a Daewoo hatchback on its roof.
Police say the 31-year-old driver ran a red light, before crashing into two other vehicles.
He died at the scene.
Two female drivers of the other cars suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.
