Defending national ironwoman series champion Liz Pluimers has withdrawn from this weekend’s rounds in Newcastle due to a torn calf muscle.
Pluimers has been doing everything possible to recover in time, but now looks certain to relinquish her crown.
In the mens, Matt Poole has tasted success in Newcastle before, and is looking to bounce back after a disappointing start to the season.
