POSSIBLE FAMILY LINK IN NORTHERN NSW CRASH
A policeman who was called to a fatal crash in northern NSW on Friday is reportedly the father of the four-year-old girl who was killed in the collision.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash near the Irvington Wharf Road, near the Bruxner Highway, east of Casino about 3pm.
Initial investigations suggest a maroon sedan lost control and collided with another car.
A two-year-old girl who was a passenger in the maroon car remains in a critical condition.
She is also reportedly a police officer’s daughter, however it is unclear if she is related to the four-year-old who died.
The 18-year-old driver of the sedan and an eight-year-old female passenger also survived the crash.
The teenager, who police believe lost control of the vehicle, was admitted to hospital with spinal injuries.
An elderly driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were not injured in the crash.
A toddler’s mangled car seat could be seen in the wreckage.
