A Northern Region policeman, and a former police officer, have been charged with perjury.
An acting sergeant has been accused of making false statements under oath in 2009, but will remain on duty while the case against him proceeds.
Meanwhile a second officer, who is no longer in the service, has been charged with fabricating evidence, perjury and assault.
The men will appear at Armidale Local Court on February 3.
