TEEN CHARGED FOLLOWING ARMED ROBBERY OF WYONG SERVICE STATION

A 14-year-old boy has been charged following the armed robbery of a service station in Wyong.

Just after 11pm on Sunday, three teenage boys entered the business on Amy Close, when one of them allegedly threatened a 47-year-old female employee with a firearm.

The trio then fled with some cash.

Yesterday police searched a home at Watanobbi and seized a gun for forensic examination.

The 14-year-old was arrested a short time later at a different home in the same suburb, and charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

Investigations into the incident continue.
