A community panel session will be held at the end of the week in the Gwydir Shire to gauge how residents feel about a special rate variation.
Last year, council applied to IPART for an additional 30 per cent increase over two years, but was only granted a one-off 15 per cent increase.
It plans to request the continuation of the current increase, as well as a further 15 per cent next financial year.
