AEC ANNOUNCES ELECTORAL CHANGES
The federal seat of Hunter as it currently stands will be abolished, under sweeping changes to electoral boundaries.
The Australian Electoral Commission has now given changes, proposed last year, the final nod.
It means just under half of the seat of Hunter will be absorbed into neighbouring Charlton – IT will then be renamed Hunter.
The remainder of the seat is divided between several other electorates, including Lyne and New England.
The changes comes into effect late next month.
