BROC PARKES AIMING FOR THE PODIUM AT TROY BAYLISS CLASSIC
Fellow Hunter rider Broc Parkes is hoping to put a disappointing 2015 behind him at this weekend’s Troy Bayliss Classic at Taree.
The 34-year-old will be one of the main contenders.
“Unfortunately I’ve been quite quick but two times I’ve fallen off in the final. One year it wasn’t my fault, last year it was. This year I want to be strong and minimum get on the podium or try and win it.”
Parkes returns to Europe on Sunday to finalise his plans for the year.
At the moment, he has five rides in the World Endurance Championship, but believes he’s still mentally and physically able to compete at the highest level.
“I had offers to come back to Australia but still don’t think I’m ready for that. I’ll go back and see what I can put together. If it doesn’t work out for sure next year I’ll come back and race in Australia.”
