Coast-based businessman, Tony Cochrane has stepped down as Executive Chairman of V8 Supercars.
One of the major driving forces behind the revamp of the popular motorsport series, the master promoter announced his retirement yesterday.
His resignation comes a year after leading private equity firm, Archer Capital became the sport’s majority owner.
Cochrane’s baby, the Gold Coast 600, remains in limbo, with the State Government refusing to commit to funding the event past 20-13.
