SAMARITANS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW CEO

The Samaritans Foundation has announced its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing long-serving CEO Cec Shevels.

Peter Gardiner started in his new role this week and has 35 years experience working in human services.

“He brings to the role incredible passion for social justice issues and supporting people to have fulfilling lives within communities of their choosing,” Samaritans President Bishop Greg Thompson said.

Mr Gardiner replaces former CEO Cec Shevels, who announced his retirement in September 2015, after 25 years with the Hunter based organisation.

He will be formally welcomed to the Diocese during a special service at Christ Church Cathedral in Newcastle at 6pm on Sunday 7th February.
